Mufti Day (Relay for Life)

Today we had a Mufti Day at school. All the money we raised is going to go to The Relay For Life. Whaea Lois will be running in the event this year and has collected a lot of money on behalf of the school which will now go to the Cancer Society which "supports people with all types of cancer; funds cancer research; and delivers cancer education and advocacy." Thank you everyone for your support. For more information about the Relay for Life, click HERE.

Flower Power Thursday

This week the flower goes to Samuel. Samuel was a good friend to Dizaliyah when someone was not being nice to her. Great work Samuel! What a great role model you are.

Taking Care of the Pigs and Chickens

On Monday the Marvellous Meerkats went to see the pigs and chickens so that we could feed them and clean the poo.

First we got the shovels and the gloves from the garden shed. The shed smells stinky and disgusting. Mr Davidson said it was just dirt.

Next we went to the chickens and we fed them. We looked for eggs but there were none.

Then we gave the pigs some apples to distract them while we picked up the poo and put it in the compost in the garden.

Finally we locked the gates, put the shovels and gloves away and went back to class.

It was very hot and some of us had to go in the shade. It is important to feed the pigs and chickens so they don't die.

Sorting Cars

This morning the Marvellous Meerkats made graphs of cars, vans and trucks.

First Mr Davidson put us into groups of three people each.

Next we cut out the cars and sorted them into groups. We all did different groups. Some people sorted the cars by colour. Other groups sorted the cars by size or patterns.

Then we glued the groups onto a big paper.

Finally we showed our graphs to the whole class.

It was hard but it was fun. We had to work together as a team.
